Lake Natron Maasai Support has together with BARAZA LA WANAWAKE WA KIFUGAJ MONDULI (BAWAKIMO) from Tanzania entered into an agreement of cooperation. Jointly we have designed and applied for funds for:
PROJECT ON AWARENESS CREATION TO THE COMMUNITY ON THE EFFECTS OF FGM IN ORDER TO STOP FGM TO GIRLS AND WOMEN FROM ENGARESERO COMMUNITY- NGORONGORO DISTRICT COUNCIL

BARAZA LA WANAWAKE WA KIFUGAJ MONDULI (BAWAKIMO)
BAWAKIMO is a women-led Community based Organization established in 2015 with registration number 164/2015.
It is a membership organization with over 1200 grassroots women pastoralist members from Monduli district. BAWAKIMO objectives is to raise and improve women’s economic and social life through trainings, lobbying and advocacy as well as women economic empowerment in eliminating all forms of violence and poverty among all stakeholders in the community.
BAWAKIMO was established as outcomes of jointly supports of Climate change project supported by IIED and HakiKazi Catalyst (2014-2017), and Pastoralist Programme (2012-2017) – a partnership programme managed jointly by Care Tanzania and Tanzania Natural Resources Forum with support from Irish Aid. BAWAKIMO was formed voluntary by women pastoralists with membership drawn from all wards of Monduli district as a response to address environmental and climate change issues by pastoralist’s women themselves.
